GENERAL APPEARANCE
April is considered a little small for her age, standing at roughly five feet even (though she doesn't mind being short, it poses a huge challenge sometimes). Her weight is roughly 120, a little heavy for people of that height. She's thin, but not skin and bones thin. April has enough meat on her to keep a presentable look. She has blonde hair, blue eyes, and a charming smile. Her skin is white with no tan - she sunburns pretty easily in the summer.
While she usually wears her uniform (properly done, of course) around the school, she prefers to wear blue jeans and hooded sweatshirts when she doesn't have to go to class.

HISTORY
April Day was the second of three children born to Juliette and Brian Day, a little less than a year after her brother was born. Her mother and father wanted another kid, but Stephen wasn't even two months old before they decided to have a second child. But they were comfortable with having two young children under the age of one. The name april wasn't special; they just thought of it a few days before the birth with a few other names, and it stood out amongst all of the other names.
During her childhood, April was considered to be very shy and didn't have very many friends. While her brother and her younger sister were more outgoing, April was more or less the one who would remain close to her parents and more focused on things by herself. That didn't seem to be a huge problem - her grades were great for her age and she even skipped a year because of the grades. Her dedication to the assignments given to her was a breath of fresh air to not only her teachers, but to her parents as well. They were happy to have a child that put her mind to her work first rather than any extra-curricular activities.
It wasn't until she was seven that things started to change. During weekends, she'd start to hang around the house with her siblings; she'd watch what they were doing - intently - and sometimes, she'd copy what they were doing. One day, as she was with her brother in his bedroom, she noticed him doing things that seemed abnormal. She wasn't sure what he was doing, but she noticed pencils and pens just floating in the air without any reasoning. April wasn't sure if she could do the same things that her brother was doing, and she didn't want to try that to the displeasure of her parents, so she decided against it.
When April was ten, her brother recieved his letter for Hogwarts. April remembered the day that they were in his room and the pencils, and the pieces started to fall into place. He had magical blood, and when her mom and dad called the three kids in for a family conversation, they revealed that they both had magical blood. They were pretty certain that both Anita and April were going to get their letters, just like Stephen did. Sure enough, the very next year, April recieved her letter for Hogwarts. Anita would recieve her letter a mere three years later.
The Sorting Hat placed April into Ravenclaw with no hesitation, based on her smarts and the fact that she would rather do homework all night than spend time doing other frivolous things. In the five years she has attended, her grades have been exceptional, and over the course of the last six years, she has come out of her shell and met people who she considered her friends.

general character traits
Before she recieved her letter to Hogwarts, April was shy. She didn't make a lot of friends because she was one of those kids who would rather do a project alone or would sit at an empty table at lunchtime. She was cautious and studious, and it showed in her work and her personality. After she recieved the letter and began education at Hogwarts, her demeanor changed. She became more open in the company of others. Interaction became normal for her. Maybe it was because she was in a school that accepted her rather than turned her down.
The downfall of her personality comes while she's nose-deep in books. Sometimes, she comes across as a cold-hearted bitch. It's almost like the grades trump a normal conversation, and somehow, that triggers the snarky and mean attitude. She doesn't mean to act like that, but it happens and she doesn't feel like herself. She ends up in the common room or in a corner of the room and she starts to cry. She eventually will feel better about herself, though. She knows that this is just a phase and that she will be her normal, energetic self within a few hours.
